St. Mary's C.E. Junior School, Oxted, Surrey.

Welcome to St. Mary's School website

Welcome pupils, parents, carers, governors, friends of St Mary’s School and especially to those who are new to St Mary’s School.

Ethos St Mary’s learning is fun as well as work.  We believe that laughter and brightness are important, for the pupils and every adult associated with the school.  We recognise that people respond well to praise for good work attitudes and good work, and we encourage both.  To support this we use a balanced system of rewards and sanctions creating a secure and disciplined environment.

Aspirations  We provide an exciting and challenging education and have high aspirations for our children helping them to achieve their academic, personal and social potential in preparation for their journey through the next stages of education and finally into the adult world.

A broad curriculum and extracurricular provision.  A child only spends a comparatively short time in junior school; therefore it is important that every child gains as much as possible from the experience.  At Primary School age the children are still exploring and developing their likes and dislikes.  St Mary’s provides a wide range of opportunities for this in the arts, music, drama, sport, social and spiritual development as well as academic lessons.

As you make your way through this site I hope that the philosophy of our school will become obvious.  If you would like to know more please contact the school office.  A visit to tour the school to see our facilities and talk to the pupils and staff can also be arranged.
