The staff and governors of St. Mary’s C of E Junior School aim to provide a secure, supportive and challenging Christian environment that will offer all children appropriate opportunities for growth and development, regardless of their race, gender, religion or ability.
To achieve this we:
· Ensure that children develop numeracy, literacy and ICT skills that enable them to access the National Curriculum
· Promote high standards of achievements
· Promote healthy lifestyles
· Extend children in their areas of strength; identify any areas of weakness and develop skills and strategies to address their needs
· Encourage children to respect themselves and others and to value the positive contribution they make to school life, supported by a systematic framework of rewards and sanctions
· Promote high standards of personal development so that children can take responsibility for their learning, becoming capable of achieving not only as individuals, but also in collaboration with their peers
· Share expertise and skills by operating a collaborative and co-operative teaching approach
· Use our professional skill to monitor and review children’s progress and achievement and to regularly report on it to parents
· Positively welcome the involvement of parents and carers, working in a genuine partnership to enhance all aspects of school life
· Work together with parents, carers and outside agencies to safeguard our pupils
The ethos of our school is to encourage each individual to achieve their best and to celebrate this with them.
